Foxwoods Resort & Casino

Mashantucket, CT

Our first stop at Foxwoods? Johnny Rockets, obviously. This classic burger joint is a super quick and affordable option for a fun & yummy lunch. My Garden Black Bean Burger + the meat-lovers Bacon Cheddar Burger (and sweet potato fries DUH) came out to be $25 with tip. Highly suggested if you're looking to save on lunch and splurge on one of the many delicious dinner spots dispersed throughout the resort.

Next up? THE HIGHFLYER ZIPLINE! This nearly mile-long zipline takes off from the 30th floor of Fox Tower and hits speeds of 60 MPH. If you read my skydiving post, you know my fear of that nasty sick feeling you get in your tummy when you're on a roller coaster. This is NOTHING like that. You sit in a comfy harness and fly through the air without any sort of pukeyness. Highly recommend this for any age!

Dinner consisted of none other than the famous Sugar Factory. HELLO DRINK MENU! Their $36 goblets are filled with adorable (and delicious) gummy candies and 5 shots worth of the good good. These are perfect to split between two. If you're a peach fan, go for the Fuzzy Peach Penguin Mango. You could GUZZLE these down.

Their food menu consists of your typical American meals. I love a good marinara, so I went for their Rigatoni Marinara. The strips of parmesan that topped it off was KILLER. The carnivore had Country Fried Chicken that came with a mouth-watering side of mac n' cheese. If those don't pique your interest, check out their menu for everything from a Salmon Salad to a BLT Crepe.

Now for the dessert! They're as gorgeous as they are delicious. Unfortunately we were SO FULL and couldn't bring ourselves to order one of the Insane Milkshakes, but we drooled all night over our neighbor's orders. The Caramel Sugar Daddy Cheesecake & Nutella Banana Milkshake's looked HEAVENLY.

The Casino

The vibe of the casino floor doesn't amp up until about 10 PM, so take the time to enjoy a few drinks while the crowd is quiet. Centrale Fox Tower is a walk-up bar in the center of the casino floor, featuring the COMFIEST chairs and a moderate sized dance floor. We aren't ones for slots, and our favorite table game is the $1 Blackjack table. Obviously we don't play at this table with the aim of making money, but it is FUN and you can play hand after hand without stressing. Plus, the people playing at the table are typically of the same mentality as you and SO MUCH FUN. We make friends every time we sit down.

SHRINE Nightclub, ranked among the Top 100 nightclubs in the world for four years in a row, starts to pack up around 11 PM. The entrance is located directly off of the Fox Tower Casino and next to the hotel elevators. The club features an Asian flare, which pairs perfectly with the delicious Red Lantern restaurant that oversees the dance floor from above. Not to mention the DJ killed it with the remixes.

The new Party on the Patio event is a super chill mix of music, food, drinks and games. Free entrance begins at 6 PM (check Foxwoods' website for dates). Live music by The Ultra is accompanied by a few food trucks, fire pits, ping pong and fireworks. The vibe is relaxed and fun, making for the perfect go-to before you hit the casino.
