Spiced & Spiked

Apple Cider

Once October hits I turn into your stereotypical white girl. Pumpkin spice and everything nice, baby.

I grew up drinking apple cider (hot) during the fall/winter months, so it's only natural for me to spike some up when we're looking for a cozy, casual drink. You can enjoy this hot or cold - photographed here is the cold version, but the recipe below is equally perfect heated on the stove.

Hot or cold, be sure to add cinnamon (sticks, preferably, and allow the sticks to soak for a bit for ultimate flavor). I also soak in fresh oranges & add cinnamon sprinkle if I want something bolder.

My go to rum is Don Q's Oak Barrel Spiced. Aged for 3 years in American White Oak Barrels, this rum comes with a sweeter & more fall-ready flavor.
